SEATTLE, WA…November 1, 2010...BEC Recordings’ artist Jeremy Camp was honored last week with the ASCAP Songwriter / Artist of the Year Award at the 32nd Annual ASCAP Christian Music Awards in Nashville, TN. This is the first year for the Songwriter / Artist of the Year Award category, which recognizes not only the songwriter, but the artist that performs his/her own songs.

"I am so incredibly honored and humbled to receive this award,” shares Jeremy Camp. “My sincere thanks to ASCAP for all the work they do for artists and songwriters, like myself. I'm thankful to the Lord and to my wonderful family. It's so crazy to get to continue to do what I am called to do, and that is making music for God and others!"

Camp previously was awarded Songwriter of the Year in 2005, 2006, and 2008. Camp added two more Most Performed awards to his collection for "There Will Be a Day" and "Healing Hand of God." He has also previously been awarded with an ASCAP Song of the Year award (2006 “Take You Back”).

In August, Camp released his sixth studio project, “We Cry Out: The Worship Project,” with his highest Billboard 200 debut at No. 15. He just finished his headline tour “The Worship Tour” with Carlos Whittaker and John Mark McMillan. Camp’s debut single from the worship album has also flourished at radio as it has touched listeners across the nation. “Jesus Saves” became Camp’s 21st No. 1 single topping the charts at AC Indicator and Inspo.
